Hallelujah! plus TV update, and OMG Relient k!

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 11:30 PM
Well, the good news, my computer is back! Yaaaay! It's been back for a short while now, and I'm very very very happy again. The first time I got to use it, I was like "Ahh, what is with these weird keys?!" It just didn't feel normal anymore :( But it's better than all the dumb computers in the computer lab/SUB that have broken keys. (However, my delete key is falling off. Badly. I really should take the computer back to ResTech just to ask them if they can fix that.)

IN OTHER NEWS:

TV Season is officially on! Which means I am now content with life again. This is the first week where I've had to tape most of my shows and watch them the next day due to homework or something. I still have How I Met Your Mother taped from Monday, and Greek from the repeat showing tonight. I'll watch those HOPEFULLY tomorrow, but if not, Thursday.

I've been rewatching Lost with my friend Kylie, who is a newbie Lost viewer. It's tons of fun watching it with her, since I get to see her reaction to everything as if it were fresh :D We just finished season 4 today, so we only have one season left. I've caught some SERIOUSLY important things the second time around, and can't wait to tell her my in-depth theory.

This is new as of today, but OMG I GET TO GO SEE RELIENT K IN CONCERT!!!! FINALLY!!! AFTER YEARS OF WANTING TO!!!

Relient K is my favorite band, ever, end of story. I have, at some point in time, had every single one of their albums (currently missing one, but I know it's at home somewhere!!). They came out with a new album today, which I like (not love yet - it's a slightly different sound that I think sounds great, I'm just not used to it being their sound.)

So I checked their tour schedule, just cause, and discovered they're playing in Dallas on the 19th. So on Facebook, I quickly posted as my status, "Hey, anyone wanna go see Relient K with me on the 19th in Dallas? I don't wanna go by myself, but I NEED to see them!" And one of my friends said YES! :D We bought the tickets today, and I am PSYCHED.

This is seriously something I've been waiting for for years. I promised my sister I would take her to a Relient K concert someday, and I still intend to do that.

So basically, I've had some really awesome experiences this past year. I've gotten to meet Steven Curtis Chapman, Honor Society....can I PLEASE meet Relient K? I think I would fall over and die of happiness!

And that's enough rambling for one day :D

P.S. I love how most of my "journal entries" are about TV/movies/music/etc, and just a small portion is actually about my life, haha. This is why I am a film major, thank you very much.

  • Mood: Happy Tears
  • Listening to: Forget And Not Slow Down - Relient k
  • Eating: Goldfish! though they aren't very salty... :(
  • Drinking: LIMEADE, actually, and water, of course

So weird. I just sent an @reply to johnnylunchbox on Twitter, and when I checked out his page I noticed that he @replied a 'leleana'. Well that looked familiar enough to spark my curiosity so I clicked away. Saw the link to this DA page and it all made sense, haha. *is following you now* username is FarahJayden!

Haha, wow! That's really funny, actually! What are the chances of that? :) Following you back, of course, since I actually "know you" (unlike the random people who follow me that I'm like Who ARE you?!)

WOO! And I know how that is. I usually get sketchy (promoter-type) people following me, but they're easy to identify. See you in the Twitterverse. ;]

It is the perfect music for doing homework. Who are your favorite composers?
:iconleleana:
I absolutely love Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Howard Shore (holy crap, Lord of the Rings is epic), James Horner, and Michael Giacchino, in general. I realize most of those are highly common, lol, but I'm still branching out :D

My favorite scores as of right now are Narnia (the first one) and Tranformers. I can listen to the Transformers score for hours and never get bored.

What about you? :)

:iconal203:
My favorite composers would be Jon Powell (Hancock and the Bourne movies), Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption), and of course Michael Giachinno and Hans Zimmer.

The Lord of the Rings soundtrack is pretty good, but I'm biased because my parents only bought the first two. If you want great homework or great music to listening to while running, get the Bourne soundtracks.

I have never heard the Transformers soundtrack. Can you compare it to anything you have heard in the past?
:iconleleana:
Having only the first two Lord of the Rings soundtracks is like...ok, I can't think of a comparison other than it's incomplete, haha. The third one has some of the best music - including a 10 minute song I LOVE playing on the piano.

I have heard that the Bourne soundtracks are great, I'll definitely have to check that out. And I'm trying to think of a comparison for the Transformers soundtrack, but not really coming up with much. Steve Jablonsky was the composer, but from what I've heard of his other stuff, it's not massively similar...All I know is, I'm super eager to see what he does with the sequel this summer :D
